Last week I was fortunate enough to sail on Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas, sailing from Civitavecchia and docking at Santorini, Ephesus (Kusadasi), Mykonos and Naples, and I loved every minute of it!
Odyssey of the Seas is a Quantum Class Royal Ship, holding a rough standard capacity of around 4,200 passenger, and that’s precisely why I loved it. It’s not a huge ship, so isn’t daunting for those who are new to cruising, but it also isn’t small, so it offers a lot of great facilities for children and adults alike.
🍕 Food 🍲
Dining venues that are included within your cruise fare are the Main Dining Room, Windjammer (The Buffet), Sorrento’s Pizza, El Loco Fresh (Mexican), Cafe Promenade, Sprinkles Soft Serve Ice Cream, Solarium Bistro, and Cafe at Two70.
There are venues you can pay extra for if you want some speciality dining, which range from around 25 dollars per person, right up to around 70 dollars for something truly spectacular
🇬🇷 Royal Beach Club Santorini 🇬🇷
This is a MUST DO!! I paid for the triple excursion which included the Beach Club, Oia and Fira, and it was around £165 pp at the time of purchase. This included the tour guide, the transport, and then at Beach Club it’s complimentary authentic food, and then some complimentary beers, wine and water. You can pay extra there for cocktails but tbh you don’t need to. There is also live music and entertainment which is fantastic!
🏄 Onboard Activities! 💦
There is so much to keep everyone entertained! There’s the North Star - a glass observation capsule that rises more than 300ft into the air. Then there’s the Flowrider, RipCord Skydiving Experience, Seaplex & Bumper Cars, Laser Tag, Rock Climbing, Kids Clubs and so much more.
Where Royal beat everyone is the quality of the onboard entertainment. The productions onboard are first class, but my favourite ever Royal show is on this ship. It’s called The Book, and the technology it uses for the show is just incredible! Well worth seeing if you go on this ship!

Odyssey is a fantastic all round ship for everyone, Kids, Parents, Grandparents. Those who want an adults only experience, those that want a family experience, those that are new to cruise, those that are long time cruisers, it just works for everyone!
